MCC employees arecommitted to providing equal opportunity for all persons regardlessof age, creed, race or gender.Metropolitan Community College is an Equal Employment Opportunityemployer that prohibits discrimination or harassment of any personon the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation,gender identity, age, birth, ancestry, national origin, ordisability. • Patrols the campus by foot or vehicle and conducts securitychecks; monitors security cameras; locks and unlocks facilities;and provides security services during events, to identifysuspicious activity and ensure student, staff, faculty, and visitorsafety.• Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance;work may involve transmitting and receiving information, performingfirst aid, contacting medical personnel, providing advisement,resolving conflicts, arresting individuals, and enforcingapplicable laws.• Identifies safety and student conduct violations; conductsinvestigations; and enforces City, State, and Federal laws, andcampus policies and procedures.• Enforces traffic and parking ordinances, to include identifyingsafety/traffic hazards, directing traffic, issuing trafficcitations, assisting motorists, escorting vehicles, and identifyingunattended vehicles.• Coordinates with staff, faculty, and community groups, and otherinternal/external personnel, departments, and/or agencies tomaintain effective working relations and facilitate College and thePolice Department’s operations.• May conduct training sessions for probationary campus policeofficers and public safety officers.• Performs administrative duties to include maintaining records,logs, and documentation of activities and incidents; assigningparking passes; providing general and specific information; andinspecting equipment for proper functioning.• Participates in campus training for students, faculty and staff.Conduct investigations in traffic accidents, criminal violations oflaw, and local ordinances, by gathering evidence, interviewingvictims and witnesses, interrogating suspects, and prepareappropriate reports for submission to local prosecutor forprosecution of cases.• Conducts investigations into violations of MCC policies andprocedures. Incumbent responsible for evidence collection to ensuresuccessful prosecutions. Attends and provides evidence in court;evidence storage and inventory.• Produces internal reports and provide feedback on casestatus.• Perform other duties as assigned. Evidence of specialized training, firearms, crime scene,self-defense, etc. LocationMaple Woods Positions in this class typically require: balancing, climbing,crouching, grasping, hearing, fingering, pulling, pushing,reaching, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.Ability to operate a Campus Police motor vehicle (policepatrols)Light lifting (5 to 20 pounds) daily. Heavy lifting moving policeequipment (20 – 50 pounds)Very heavy lifting to perform arrest or for rescues (over 50pounds). Physical agility to respond to a scene quickly.
