Police Continue to Investigate Ocean City Cold Case

first_imgLaw enforcement continues to investigate a case that has remained unsolved for a decade.Monday marked the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of John Weisbecker from his home in the 200 block of Asbury Avenue in Ocean City.Weisbecker was last seen around 10:30 a.m. by a local postal worker. The investigation indicates that he disappeared shortly before noon.Evidence at the scene shows signs of a struggle and that Weisbecker did not leave of his own free will, police said.Weisbecker, who was described as a 6-feet 2-inches tall white male with blue eyes, had brown hair at the time of his disappearance, a brown mustache, and numerous tattoos on his torso and arms.The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, FBI, Ocean City police and the New Jersey State Police.The public is encouraged to submit any information they feel may be important to this case. Information that once may have seemed insignificant could prove to be the missing element in solving this open case.Investigators are hoping that someone might remember a story or two that could help connect the dots, police said.The information may be submitted anonymously if desired.
