Elder Scrolls Online MMO gets official in May

first_imgWhen The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim saw a release late last year, it rocketed up the charts and remained there. Bethesda’s latest entry into the Elder Scrolls series pretty much ensured another game in the series is going to get made, but it also looks as though a different title carrying the seriess name is also in the works.Tom’s Guide has been told that come May Bethesda is going to officially announce the existence of Elder Scrolls Online. As you’ve probably guessed, the title points to a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game set in the Elder Scrolls world.Such a game requires a serious amount of development time, and runs the risk of taking players away from the single-player experience of the core games that have served Bethesda so well. However, it looks as though that has been thought about, and Elder Scrolls Online will be set at a very different time period to the other games.Loading up Elder Scrolls Online will see you enter the “Second Era,” which is hundreds of years before any of the released games takes place. So rather than replacing those games, it offers up a whole new experience from a different time in history. The only other detail we know at this time is the fact there will be 3 factions represented by a bird, dragon, and lion. With an announcement planned for May, and development already underway on the MMO, we can expect to see more of the game at E3 in June and Quakecon in August. However, I’m sure the question all gamers want answering is when can we expect Elder Scrolls Online to get a release?via Tom’s Guidelast_img
