State seeks input on outdoor recreation plan

first_imgOLYMPIA — The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Funding Board wants the public’s input on what priorities should be in outdoor recreation.The board has drafted a recreation and conservation plan for the state that is intended to be a guide for decision-makers when they prioritize recreation and conservation efforts for the next five years. The plan includes priorities and actions to meet Washington residents needs of outdoor recreation.The plan calls for sustained and growth of legacy parks, trails and conservation lands, improved equity of parks, trails and conservation lands, meet youth needs; plan for culturally relevant parks and trails, position outdoor recreation and conservation as a vital public service.The draft plan is available at www.rco.wa.gov/StateRecPlans.Comments can be submitted by email at [email protected], or mailed to Recreation and Conservation Office, P.O. Box 40917, Olympia, WA 98504. Comments are due Sept. 10.Staff will analyze the comments and make recommendations to change the draft plan at the funding board’s October meeting in Olympia.last_img
