The 49ers informed Dockett on Friday he was released, a source confirmed.Dockett missed all of the 2014 season with Arizona after suffering a torn ACL in training camp. He was battling a rib contusion in camp with San Francisco, although Dockett claimed on his social media accounts that he had a broken rib. The three-time Pro Bowler has 40.5 sacks in his career — all with the Cardinals. He had three sacks in Arizona’s 27-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII.
